Why are you new and improved ? I've been wondering for a while and just figured what the fig , I'll ask . Is it a Minglewood Blues dealy ?

The month of August '90 is one of the saddest times in GD history . The band reminds me of a pack of wolves .(Is that mine or am I recycling ? I think I'm recycling. ) From playing grab ass at BM's funeral to the WTF decision to pick Vince . It marks a certain grandiose version of denial of the state of the GD , as $$$ seemed to outweigh everything else . The MegaDead must be fed .
How would I feel if I was asked to join a band , then they immediately brought in a stringer as well ? That would be a quick goodbye on my part . But VW took the job , and he is still taking it in other ways as he was not able , ever , to swim with the big boys . He was a convenience so no one would have to think too hard . Indeed , it's all too much .

It is one of my fav verses . Simple , direct .
Micah wrote (750 B.C.) just before Neo-Assyrian rule made 'Palestine' a vassal . He was a contemporary of Isaiah , and also a writer who began the pivot to Christianity . I am not sure if Jews or Muslims have additional books at the end of 'The Old Testament' , but that's where you would find the tiny Book of Micah . He was a poet .

Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly -- I like it. Nice choice.

On a completely different note -- it now looks like my hubby and I WILL be at the 7 Walkers show in Northampton on the 29th (they were wonderful when we saw them last week but they didn't play "Louisiana Rain" so we are trying for that...) -- you guys gonna be there? We should definitely meet up.

First and foremost; Vinny knew how to play keyboards and could read sheet music, so his demo was plausible.

Bill Graham was still alive in 1990, The Band had commitments to be fullfilled.

There was a rehersal, three guy's Vinny included, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters (possibly more soulful than Vince) demoed, but they started Estimated and he got lost on the changes, (easy-to-do!).

There was tremendous pressure to keep feeding the cash machine. $50 Million a year (gross, not net) fed many.

Look, you don't replace Brent Mydland, Keith Godchaux or Ron McKernan, you get lucky based on your Kharma, and the Dead had Mojo Kharma from 1969- 1995.

Face it, Rock n Roll died the evening Lennon was gunned down, and buried two year later with the advent of MTV.

These guy's just pushed the envelope 15 more years, because they could!

How many? Just curious. We always hear about the huge numbers of people the Dead were supporting, how that generated pressure, etc, but really ... anyone know the size of the support staff by '90 whose paychecks relied on those tours?

Interesting. Never heard the Dave Grohl thing. I believe Pete Sears was auditioned and melvin was not considered because he didn't have the vocals.

Dave Grohl? Really? So, he went from drums to guitar and keyboards as well? Multi-talented guy.
